Investment gives HF Group affiliate 'majority ownership’ in WF Recycle-Tech
Camberley, UK – Polymer compounding and processing machinery major Farrel Pomini has increased its ownership stake in UK-based waste tire pyrolysis company WF Recycle-Tech.
Based in Ansonia, Conneticut, Farrel Pomini is part of the German HF Group, and had previously established a minority ownership in the UK company in 2021.
This “milestone” investment, will further strengthen the collaboration and accelerate the global commercialisation of WF Recycle-Tech’s tire pyrolysis technology, the UK company said 28 Jan.
WF Recycle-Tech has developed a ‘patented’ pyrolysis system for recycling end-of-life tires, using the Farrel continuous mixer system to process ELTs into resources such as recovered carbon black (rCB) and oil.
“Being part of the HF Group organisation allows us to leverage a strong global support network, deep technical expertise, and long-term investment commitment,” said Jo Dennis, managing director of WF Recycle-Tech.
The partnership, he said, “significantly strengthens” the company’s ability to scale its pyrolysis system and deliver solutions to customers around the world.”
Farrel Pomini said the move will reinforce its commitment to advancing sustainable solutions for the global rubber and plastics industries.
“This acquisition aligns with our long-term strategy to support sustainable solutions that address global challenges,” said Paul Lloyd, president of Farrel Corp.
By combining WF Recycle-Tech’s pyrolysis process with Farrel Pomini’s technology expertise and HF Group’s global infrastructure, we are creating a “powerful platform” to address the worldwide challenge of ELT recycling, concluded Ian Wilson, Co-CEO of HF group.
