European Rubber Journal’s list of the 10 most viewed 'projects-related' stories of the year
This year can continued high invertment levels across the global tire and rubber industry, led largely by Chinese producers. Below is European Rubber Journal’s list of the 10 most viewed projects of the year:
1. Black Donuts in €600m project to establish new tire plant in US
The American Tire Works (ATW) project in Oklahoma, involving Finnish firm Black Donuts, will have capacity to produce 4.3 million of passenger car tires. (Read more)
2. CNPC completes major synthetic rubber project in southeast China
PetroChina subsidiary Guangxi Petrochemical has completed the 'handover' of new rubber and elastomer production units in Guangxi, southeast China, the local regional industrial park has reported. (Read more)
3. Linglong unveils €1bn tire plant project in Brazil
Shandong Linglong Tire is partnering with Paraguay-based tire distributor/importer Sunset SA Comercial Industrial Y De Servicios for a major greenfield tire plant in Brazil to support its global expansion strategy. (Read more)
4. Saudi Arabia launches tire project with Chinese partner
Saudi Arabia has launched a project to produce 5 million units of tires/year by 2028, using technology to be provided by an unnamed Chinese partner. (Read more)
5. Hankook launches project to add TBR production at European site
Korean tire major Hankook has broken ground on a previously announced expansion project at its European production plant in Rácalmás, Hungary. (Read more)
6. Michelin adding passenger car tire capacity in China
Michelin is continuing to realign its production in China with a new conversion project introduced at its manufacturing site in Shenyang. (Read more)
7. Chinese supplier Cenway plans major butyl rubber expansion
Chinese materials supplier Zhejiang Cenway New Materials Co. Ltd (Cenway) is planning to expand its production capacity for butyl rubber by 70 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa). (Read more)
8. Dynasol adds 20ktpa SSBR capacity in Spain
Dynasol Group has added 20 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) of capacity for the manufacture of solution styrene butadiene rubber (SSBR) production line at its production site in Gajano, Santander, Spain. (Read more)
9. BKT unveils €360m plan to enter new tire markets, add carbon black capacity
Balkrishna Industries Ltd (BKT) has unveiled a INR35 billion (€360 million) three-year investment plan aimed at more than doubling its revenue to INR230 billion by 2030. (Read more)
10. Kumho selects Poland for €500m European tire factory
Kumho Tire has announced plans to build a tire factory in Opole, in southwestern Poland, as its first European production base. (Read more)
