System combines belt profile with sprockets of exactly the same width to deliver “highly efficient power delivery to the wheel”
Frankfurt – Dayco has introduced a “revolutionary” integrated transmission system (iTS) for e-bike belt-drive application at Eurobike in Frankfurt, 25-29 June.
The iTS solution combines "a specifically designed belt profile" with sprockets of exactly the same width.
This enables the system to deliver “highly efficient power delivery to the wheel” with reduced wear and “virtually silent operation.”
The system includes three drive belts – EHT Carbon, HT Carbon and UHT Carbon – with "a defined composition to provide a good, better, best solution” when used with the iTS sprockets.
The belts share a common design but differ in the type of rubber used: EPDM for the EHT Carbon belt, and HNBR for the HT and UHT carbon belts.
The belts also feature internal cords and coatings specified according to Dayco’s requirements.
The company also exhibited its UHT carbon belt used inside the bike’s electric motor, an OE solution which it said is already in place with several China-based E-bike manufacturers.
