Guilin Lanyu Aviation Tire obtains certification for domestic large aircraft radial tires
Beijing – Guilin Lanyu Aviation Tire Co., a subsidiary of Sinochem, has officially obtained the China Civil Aviation Technical Standards Approval (CTSOA) for radial tires for large domestic aircraft.
The development of the tire marks the first time Chinese civil aviation tires are used for large passenger aircrafts.
“This indicates that China has achieved independent control in the field of key aviation parts, and that its aviation tire technology has reached an internationally advanced level,” said Sinochem in a 22 April statement.
The approved tire specifications include main and nose tires, fully meeting the requirements of the domestically produced C919 aircraft.
The tires, Sinochem said, offer “high-speed performance, with a rated speed of 235 mph and an overspeed landing speed of 250 mph.”
They feature an advanced corrugated anti-puncture structure, significantly improving puncture resistance and providing strong support for the C919’s safe operation.
According to Sinochem, it took Guilin Lanyu six months from the start of the project to successfully obtain the airworthiness certification.
