Endurica leader to receive top ACS rubber science award

London - Endurica founder and president Dr Will Mars is the 2026 recipient of the Rubber Division, American Chemical Society (ACS) ‘Melvin Mooney distinguished technology award'.

Widely regarded as a pioneer in the field of elastomer durability, Mars will be recognised at a special event during the upcoming Global Polymer Summit (GPS) in the US.

The ACS award recognises “exceptional technical competency through significant and repeated contributions to rubber science and technology.”

Mars' leading-edge work in elastomer durability includes the development of critical plane analysis methods and fatigue life simulation techniques now used across the global tire & rubber industry.

At the GPS, being held 28-30 Sept in Louisville, Kentucky, the Endurica leader will present a special lecture, as part of a science & technology awards symposium.

Endurica will also be represented at the Future Tire Conference 2026 in Prague on 17-18 Nov, where Dr. Tom Ebbott, vice president and MD of Endurica Europe, will present on the use of simulation to predict tire temperature and tread wear under real-world driving conditions.
