Pirelli awards nine suppliers for sustainability, innovation and quality

Synthetic rubber manufacturers Asahi Kasei and Synthos recognised by Italian tire maker
Milan, Italy – Pirelli & C. SpA has awarded nine, out of 14,000, suppliers for their contribution to Pirelli’s sustainability, innovation and quality improvements.
In a 1 Dec statement, the tire maker said the main criteria behind the 2021 Supplier Awards were “care for the environment” through 'lower CO2 emissions, high quality, innovation, speed and global presence.'
Pirelli honoured Thai Eastern Group Holdings Co – a Thai supplier of natural rubber – with the sustainability award for its role in the production of "the first tire with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified natural rubber."
Quechen Silicon Chemical of China, supplier of silica, was awarded for quality, while Italian textile reinforcement company Glanzstoff Sicrem was awarded in the service level category.
Polish synthetic rubber (SR) manufacturer Synthos was awarded for performance, while Japanese SR supplier Asahi Kasei earned the innovation award.
Pirelli also recognised Chinese mould and machinery supplier Himile Science & Technology Co for innovation.
logistics company DSV Solutions was recognised in the service level category, while Deloitte won the innovation award for digital transformation.
Mexico’s Grupo Drivers transport services was also awarded in the service level category.
