Pirelli, Michelin and Bridgestone set to hike prices in January
Rome, Georgia – Pirelli is the latest major tire maker announcing a planned price hike in 2022 in North America.
Effective 17 Jan 2022, Pirelli will raise prices for car and light truck tires by up to 10%, varying by line and tire size, said a 3 Dec statement.
The increases, it said, are due to “changing market conditions”.
The announcement came two days after Michelin disclosed plans to increase prices on 1 Jan 2022, citing ‘market dynamics’.
The French tire maker said the increases will be up to 12% on “select” Michelin, BFGoodrich and Uniroyal passenger and light truck replacement tires, up to 5% on motorcycle tires, and up to 16% on both on- and off-road commercial tire and service offers.
The increases will be implemented in the US and Canada.
Meanwhile Bridgestone Americas also announced plans to raise prices at the beginning of the year in the US and Canada due to the ‘current market dynamics’.
The increase will cover Bridgestone, Firestone and Fuzion brand passenger and light truck replacement tires and motorcycle tires, said Bridgestone without giving further details.
