Management appointments for replacement tire units in Europe, Middle East, and Africa and Asia-Pacific
Hanover, Germany - Continental has appointed with new heads of its passenger car and truck tire replacement business in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa) and Asia-Pacific regions, with effect from 1 Jan 2022.
Ferdinand Hoyos will manage Continental’s replacement tire business in EMEA and serve as a member of the group’s tire board, said the 15 Dec announcement.
Hoyos will continue to report to Christian Kötz, member of the Executive Board of Continental AG responsible for the Tires business area.
Hoyos, who has led Continental’s replacement tire business in the APAC region since 2018, succeeds Philipp v. Hirschheydt, who is moving to Continental’s Automotive group sector.
The new head of the replacement tire business in the APAC region is Dalibor Kalina, who, as a future member of the Tire Board, will report directly to Kötz. He has been head of Continental’s passenger car replacement tire business in China since 2015.
Hoyos started his career as a consultant in strategy and corporate finance before joining Continental in 2006. Among other roles, he led Continental's M&A and corporate real estate management team and was a regional replacement tire business leader in South America.
Kalina started his career at the Slovakian tire maker Matador, part of Continental since 2007. He held various positions in the sales division there before becoming MD of Matador in 2007, where he steered the company’s integration into Continental’s tires business.
This role was followed by management positions at Continental Barum in the Czech Republic and then Continental Tires China - most recently as market head for the passenger car replacement tire business.
