Phillips Carbon Black changes name, starts new QA facility

Trading now as PCBL, carbon black maker opens quality assurance lab in Palej, India
Kolkata, India – Phillips Carbon Black Ltd has officially changed its name to PCBL Ltd, effective 29 Dec 2021, the Indian carbon black maker has announced.
The company, which is estimated to be the largest Indian carbon black producer, has also opened a new “state-of-the-art” quality assurance at its manufacturing facility in Palej, Gujarat.
The lab, said a 28 Dec statement, is part of the company's strategy to improve the quality and consistency of its products in accordance with international standards.
The move, said the Palej-headquartered company, is a ‘significant milestone’ in PCBL’s ambition to become a “trusted global player”.
PCBL manufactures around 570 kilotonnes per annum of carbon black across four plants in India and is currently progressing a fifth site in south of India.
