Hematite purchase to expand product portfolio, manufacturing scope
Mississauga, Ontario – Materials technology and automotive supplier Woodbridge Group has acquired Ontario-based Hematite, a specialist in noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) control and abatement.
The acquisition will enable Woodbridge to further develop "integrated multi-functional and high-value products" for the rapidly growing new energy vehicles (NEV), said a recent statement by the Canadian group.
The group expects to deliver ‘differentiated interior, exterior and seating products solutions’ by combing Hematite’s expertise with its foam and chemistry capabilities, said Woodbridge president and CEO John Zianis.
Hematite manufactures NVH products including acoustic, air flow and water deflection products for the automotive industry.
Based in Guelph, Ontario, the company operates three manufacturing sites in Guelph and Brantford, Ontario, and Englewood, Ohio.
“The acquisition adds heat, water and air management solutions to our product portfolio, and a diverse set of lightweight materials to support next generation NVH products,” said Zianis.
The move, he said, will present opportunities for continued product line and customer base expansion in both traditional internal combustion engine vehicles and the growing EV space.
