Lake Forest, Illinois-Tenneco Automotive has made Timothy Donovan the firm's new executive vice president of strategy and business development. Donovan will continue his current role as Tenneco's general counsel. He was previously also executive vice president, managing director, Asia Pacific.
In his newly created role, said a Tenneco statement, Donovan will oversee all of the company's strategy and business development activities, including potential joint ventures, strategic alliances, market expansion and opportunistic acquisitions. Donovan also serves on the company's board of directors.
The move is part of changes designed to put Tenneco in the best position for future growth, a company statement commented. "We are making adjustments that will help us successfully execute our strategies and position Tenneco Automotive for greater success," added Mark Frissora, chairman and CEO of Tenneco Automotive, in the statement.
"Tim Donovan has done an excellent job leading our Asia Pacific businesses in a period of rapid growth, particularly in China. I'm looking forward to having him in this newly created role, which is key to accelerating our growth strategies worldwide," continued Frissora.
Tenneco has also made Timothy Jackson senior vice president technology and general manager, Asia Pacific, including the company's operations in China, Thailand, Australia, as well as the aftermarket operations in the region.
Jackson's extensive experience in manufacturing and engineering will be important to managing growth in this region, where the company will be launching 23 new OE platforms over the next 12 months,†the statement said.
Jackson, who will relocate to Shanghai, will also use his technical expertise to help in Tenneco's plans to establish an engineering centre for ride and emission control in China, the group said.
Tenneco Automotive's Japanese and Korean OE businesses will report directly to the Frissora. Jeff Jarrell, vice president, Japan and Korea global OEM business, will join the company's senior management team.
This change flattens the management structure for this global business and highlights the importance of continued growth with these customers.
The company's India operations will report to Hari Nair, executive vice president and managing director, Europe and South America in a change which also streamlines management responsibilities for these operations.
Paul Schultz, 54, senior vice president, global supply chain management, will assume responsibility for the company's global manufacturing.
