DSM's Louisiana SBR plant survives hurricane

Baton Rouge, Louisiana--DSM Copolymer Inc's styrene-butadiene plant in Baton Rouge and its employees survived Hurricane Katrina unscathed.
"Our plant was undamaged by Hurricane Katrina," a DSM Copolymer executive said. He said the company did the prudent thing as the storm approached: Closed the factory and sent all employees home.
Production was restarting today, and the operation was expected to be finishing material by Thursday.
