BeyondPoly's 100ktpa POE facility in Shandong province reaches design production capacity
Shanghai, China – Swiss industrial manufacturing firm Sulzer has supplied purification technology to BeyondPoly's new 100ktpa polyolefin elastomer (POE) plant in China, the company announced 22 Sept.
The companies have signed the final acceptance certificate for Sulzer's Devo purification unit, confirming that the system has been installed, tested and is operating as intended, Sulzer said.
The POE facility in Jingbo Industrial Park, Shandong province, has now reached its planned production capacity.
Sulzer said its technology removes residual compounds from POE during production, targeting low volatile content and consistent product quality while reducing energy consumption.
“The successful ramp-up and rapid achievement of design production capacity demonstrate the value of proven devolatilisation technology in large-scale POE production,” said Tim Schulten, president of Sulzer's Chemtech division.
Sulzer, he said, supported BeyondPoly in bringing the capacity into “reliable commercial operation” while meeting targets for product quality, process efficiency and operational stability.
