MTI-PolyFab to carry out Boeing, Airbus retrofits
By Liz White, ERJ staff
Mississauga, Ontario-MTI-PolyFab has gained a second contract to retrofit a Boeing VIP 767 and is also to retrofit two Airbus A319 airplanes customised for VIP use. The contracts are to be finished this autumn.
The work, valued at $768 000 (Euro 626 000) for all three aircraft, involves fitting thermal, environmental and acoustic insulation.
"We're delighted that our aerospace division, MTI-PolyFab, has secured these important orders in the VIP retrofit market," said Bill Neill, president and ceo of MTI PolyFab owner MTI Global, in a company release.
"MTI-PolyFab is enjoying one of its best years ever, and this news builds upon that success," said Neill, adding that gaining more business in the retrofit market is a priority, and has the value of "generating work to counteract the generally cyclical nature of the aerospace industry."
