Production restarts at Hunter Rubber, 10 confirmed offers being assessed
Dumfries, UK - Production restarted at Hunter Rubber Company yesterday (Monday) morning. The company has laid off about 35 employees since going into receivership earlier this month, but all 64 remaining employees are said to have reported for work as usual.
The joint administrators of Hunter Rubber Company, Richard Fleming, Howard Smith and Blair Nimmo, from KPMG's restructuring practice, have confirmed they received 10 offers for the UK-based wellington boot manufacturer by the 21 April deadline.
The administrators said they will now assess the bids, with a view to achieving the maximum price for the business.
Among those said to have bid are Barbour, the outdoor clothes manufacturer, and Dunlop Hevea, a Dutch industrial footwear maker.
Richard Fleming, joint administrator and KPMG Restructuring partner said: After initial discussions with approximately 100 interested parties, we are now pleased to be in a position to examine 10 offers in detail." He added that a decision is expected later this week.
