NR prices fall $0.10 on selling spree
Tokyo - Natural rubber prices fell back on Tuesday after reaching new highs in Tokyo in early trading. Prices fell in other markets, following the lead set in Japan.
In Tokyo the benchmark 6-month futures prices rose to ¥324.5 in early trading before falling sharply to close at 309.1 yen/kilo ($2.70) on Tuesday. Futures contracts are currently trading around 315 ¥/kg (around $2.72).
In Singapore prices also moved down, following the trend in Tokyo. Short-dated RSS3 closed at 276 US cents/kg on Tuesday, down 4 points, while the 12-month contract stood at 269.5 cents, down by 7.5 cents on Monday's close. Meanwhile short-dated RSS1 closed down slightly at 446.5 Sing cents/kg, (US$2.80). The 12-month contract stood at 436, over 8 cents below Monday's close.
