NR prices recover slowly in Tokyo, Singapore
Tokyo - Natural rubber prices bounced back on Monday, gaining much of the ground lost on Friday, but remained below ¥300/kg in Tokyo.
In Tokyo the benchmark 6-month futures prices closed at 295.8 yen/kilo ($2.56) on Monday. Shorter futures contracts are currently trading around 300 ¥/kg (around $2.60).
In Singapore prices also ended higher, following the trend in Tokyo. Short-dated RSS3 closed at 264. US cents/kg on Monday, up by a couple of points, while the 12-month contract stood at 254 cents, also a couple of points above Friday's close. Meanwhile short-dated RSS1 closed up four points at 427 Sing cents/kg, (US$2.67). The 12-month contract stood at 411.25, four cents up on Monday's close.
