Management buyout at US Quabaug company
North Brookfield, Massachusetts -Â A group of managers has taken over at shoe-sole maker Quabaug Corp. following the resignation of Roger Varnum from his position as Chairman. Kevin Donahue, Chief Executiveof Quabaug, was elected chairman and will retain his position of CEO. This election culminated a 91-year history of Varnum family ownership in the corporation.
Located in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, since 1916, Quabaug Corporation produces technologically advanced footwear soles and is the North American manufacturer of 'Vibram' soling products. The company has a proud history of designing and manufacturing various rubber products, from hockey pucks and baby carriage tyres, to floor tiles and footwear soling products.
On 5 July 2007, Donahue and his colleagues Mike Gionfriddo, president & COO, and Jim Barkoskie, Vice-President human resources, completed a transaction that would allow them to own the company going forward.
Quabaug currently employs more than 300, according to the comapny website.
