Rhein Chemie highlights bladder coatings and compounding quality control at Tire Technology Expo
Mannheim – Permanent bladder coatings, which enable tires to be vulcanised without the need for tire spray solutions containing silicones, open up new possibilities for tire manufacturers to improve efficiency and quality, says Rhein Chemie. This is cited as particularly beneficial when manufacturing highly complex products such as tires with run-flat, self-sealing and noise-reducing properties.
To realise low scrap rates, the content, dispersion, and distribution of fillers and curing additives need to be evaluated quickly and reproducibly, notes the company. This applies in particular to continuous processes. With Rhenowave, Rhein Chemie offers a new quality control concept for black compounds. During extrusion compounds are scanned ultrasonically by a pulse transmission process. A specially developed marker enables the distribution of curing additives to be monitored.
Rhein Chemie is at Stand 4120 at Tire Technology Expo, Cologne, 11-13 February.
