Hellas installed nine Nevada running tracks in record time
ERJ staff report (DS)
Las Vegas, Nevada -- US building company Hellas Construction has recently installed nine rubber-based running tracks in Nevada State in record time.
Hellas won the official bid by the county on June 24th, began construction within the same hour and went on to complete the project in record time of ten weeks.
The system uses a track bed based on recycled tyre crumb topped with multiple layers of coloured EPDM to give both resilience for athletes and resistance to ultra-violet degradation. “For the nine Clark County tracks, we used close to a million pounds of recycled SBR rubber, which is equivalent to more than 11,526 recycled truck tyres,†said Bob Allison, Vice President of Hellas Track Operations. Using recycled tyres significantly reduces the amount of waste placed in landfills every year. The rubber made from tyre shreds and bales is also cleaner and more efficient product.
