Hamburg, Germany – Distributor Biesterfeld Plastic GmbH is expanding its position in the European performance rubber sector, helped by its integration of Küttner GmbH, according to a statement from the Hamburg-based company.
Since the acquisition of Küttner in January 2013, Biesterfeld Plastic said it had significantly expanded the product portfolio of the performance rubber business, which is now generating sales of over €30 million in Europe.
Römerberg, Germany-based Küttner is operating as an independent business unit within Biesterfeld Plastic, focusing mainly on the rubber-processing and wire & cable extrusion markets.
“From our base in Römerberg, we will be pressing ahead with the extension of our performance rubber activities throughout Europe,” said Sascha Hennig, manager of the European performance rubber business unit.

“The integration of products from Küttner GmbH and SMPC.’s suppliers into the existing portfolio of Biesterfeld Plastic GmbH has resulted in a complete range of rubber polymers and elastomers across Europe,”. added a Biesterfeld Plastic statement.
Biesterfeld Plastic lists Exxon Mobil, Cabot Corporation, LG Chemical, Chi Mei, INEOS, Masteradditives, Stephenson and Dow Corning among the ‘current partners’ of the performance rubber business unit
