New manufacturing plant to address demand for local production of 'new-generatio of tires'
Zanjan, Iran – Iran’s Saba Tire Cord has broken ground on an IRR3,300 billion (€68 million) steel tire cord production plant in the western city of Zanjan to meet growing local demand.
The facility is expected to have the capacity to produce 10,000 tonnes per annum in the first phase, which is scheduled for completion in 14 months, the company announced 9 Oct.
Once fully operational, the project is set to employ 200 people and supply to the local tire industry for application in the new generation of tires, the manufacturer added.
Zhangjiagang, China-based Sanyuantai is supplying the machinery for the plant, according to Saba Tire.
