Move in response to increases in costs related to energy prices and CO2 certificates
Madrid – Dynasol Group is implementing a surcharge of €300/tonne on all synthetic rubber and rubber chemicals products manufactured in Europe.
Effective 1 Nov, the price move is in response to a ‘significant increase’ in costs related to energy prices and CO2 certificates, Dynasol announced 19 Oct.
“[Costs] have increased throughout the year and continue to do so, reaching levels we can no longer absorb alone,” the manufacturer of rubber and rubber chemicals added.
According to Dynasol, natural gas and electricity prices have risen to "record levels", driven by the combination of strong demand across all regions and structural changes in European energy sources.
Energy prices, the group went on to say, are expected to continue rising "for the foreseeable future."
The rubber industry is seeing a sustained round of price increases on key raw materials along with energy surcharges and limitations on supply.
