Chinese tire maker set to start 12-month project at manufacturing site in Shandong province
Dezhou, China – Linglong is to start construction on a €54 million (400 million yuan) truck and bus tire expansion project at its site in Dezhou, Shandong province.
The tire maker started the environmental impact public review process for the project in September, said a Linglong announcement.
The expansion project, to be completed in 12 months, is designed to produce 1.2 million unit tires each year, the statement added.
When in full operation, the project will generate €62 million annual profit over €193 million revenue. It will cover a 200,000-square-metre total area and create 284 new jobs.
The site in Dezhou currently has a nameplate capacity to produce 10 million units of passenger car tires and 2 million units of truck and bus tires per year.
The new project falls under a ‘capacity replacement project’ to substitute bias tire production. In 2020 Linglong closed down facilities with 4 million units of annual capacity for bias tire at the Dezhou site.
The closed facilities had an annual consumption of 297,000 tonnes of rubber compound; said Linglong, adding that the new project will consume 283,000 tonnes each year.
