Wacker to raise global prices for silicones
German chemicals supplier announced similar price increases in April
Munich, Germany – Wacker Silicones is scheduling a new round of price increases for its products as costs continue to rise.
Effective 15 Oct, the German chemicals supplier will increase prices across its entire silicones product range on average by 30% or more, said a 5 Oct statement.
Wacker introduced price hikes of between 10% and 20% on the same products in April.
The latest increase, said the supplier, has been “necessitated by ongoing significant cost increases for strategic raw materials, especially silicon metal, logistics and packaging as well as multiple corona pandemic measures.”
According to Wacker, critical components in the supply chain have multiplied in cost.
Wacker’s complete silicones portfolio, including silicone fluids, silicone emulsions, silicone rubber, silicone resins, silanes, HDK pyrogenic silica, sealants and silane-terminated polymers, is subject to the upcoming price adjustments.
