Fifth edition of the awards based on sustainability, innovation and crisis-support criteria
Clermont-Ferrand - Michelin has recognised nine suppliers for their outstanding contribution in the fields of industrial purchases, raw materials and services, the tire maker announced 1 Oct.
Marking the group’s fifth edition of supplier award, the French manufacturer distinguished the suppliers based on five criteria of sustainability, innovation, quality, risk management and support provided during the crisis.
The winners in the field of industrial purchases included Mekins, an India-based manufacturer & exporter of automobile packaging solutions such as metal pallets, engine racks, wire-mesh containers, tire pallets, etc.
German rubber processing machinery manufacturer HF Mixing Group as well as UK-based industrial distributor and supplier of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, Rubix were other winners in this category.
In the raw materials field, China’s Jianghan New Materials was recognised for the supply of functional silane.
France-based steel company Paturle was also recognised for its ‘high value-added steel strips’, while South Korea’s Kolon Industries won the award for its supply of tire cords.
Service supplier Apostrophe Technologies, from South Philadelphia was awarded for its open-source CMS platform which allows clients to "build and maintain websites that they can change themselves."
Warehouse Services Inc, based in Piedmont, South Carolina was recognised for logistics services, including inventory management, and JIT delivery.
