London webinar to focus on elastomers in 3D printing

Rubber in Engineering Group to host free-to-attend technical afternoon session on 17 sept
London – UK-based Rubber in Engineering Group (RIEF) is holding a webinar elastomers used in additive manufacturing in the afternoon of 17 Sept.
Championed by Dr Khai Nguyen, senior product development scientist at sustainable materials company Puraffinity, the free webinar will focus on the use of elastomers and elastomeric-like materials in 3D printing.
The talks will discuss the latest developments of 3D printable elastomer systems, printing technologies and products that have been achieved using the manufacturing approach.
The confirmed speaker programme includes:
• Dr Sarah Karmel (Rheon Labs) - The challenges and solutions associated with 3D printable elastomers
• Chiara Da San Martino (Queen Mary University of London) - Extrusion-based 3D printing of novel silicone elastomers with advanced properties

• Robert Young (Photocentric) - Visible light photo-polymerisation of elastomers
