Liverpool, UK – UK-based masterbatch manufacturer Colloids Ltd is set to launch a new facility for “bespoke polymer composites” employing its Graphanced graphene masterbatch technology.
In a 25 Aug statement, the manufacturer said it had been working on its graphene R&D for over seven years, extensively collaborating with “the world's top graphene producers analysing the different quality and grades.”
As a result, the company was able to formulate its Graphanced novel polymer composites using the 2D material.
In a written statement to ERJ, Colloid said that the base resins of the Graphanced product range include, but are not limited to, thermoplastic elastomers, thermoplastic polyurethanes, polyamide 6, polyamide 66, PET and polyolefins.
“We are proud to have achieved some remarkable developments in this field and are now working with major customers in the commercialisation of these products,” said Dr Marios Michailidis, Colloids new product development manager.
Colloilds will launch its Graphanced masterbatch service at the Compounding World Expo, in Essen, Germany at the end of September.
Michailidis will present an update on the latest developments in graphene polymer composites at the event on 29 Sept.
