Victor Vreeken previously served as COO of Dutch sustainable chemicals producer Avantium
Eindhoven, The Netherlands – Black Bear Carbon has promoted Victor Vreeken as the CEO, with immediate effect, the end-of-life tire pyrolysis company announced 13 Aug.
Vreeken, who joined Black Bear in January 2020 as the chief technology officer, succeeds Silvio Ghyoot who has decided to leave Black Bear to pursue opportunities outside the company.
Vreeken holds two master’s degrees in mechanical engineering and chemical engineering as well as an MBA.
Prior to joining Black Bear, he worked with Dutch renewable and sustainable chemicals company Avantium for eight years and most recently served as the company’s chief operations officer for renewable polymers.
Before that he held various positions at Dutch chemicals giant DSM both in operations and commerce.
“We are very pleased to have Victor Vreeken as successor from within the organisation, to further lead the roll-out of Black Bear’s technology,” said chairman of the supervisory board Koos Breen.
