Pioneering fitment on the Toyota Yaris Cross model follows a four-year R&D programme
Paris – Toyota is employing encapsulated window systems developed by Hutchinson SA for the first time on one of its vehicles, the French rubber/polymer products manufacturer has announced.
The pioneering fitment on the Toyota Yaris Cross model follows a four-year R&D programme – to 2016 – to develop solutions for the Japanese car maker, said a Hutchinson press statement.?
The research, it explained, “helped to demonstrate the ease of assembly, the savings in terms of weight and the improved acoustic performance of encapsulated glass.”
The sealed glazing systems, which are being manufactured in France, can now be found aboard the new Yaris Cross released in July 2021, said Hutchinson – noting the role of its R&D capabilities in the partnership with Toyota.
