Masuo Yoshimatsu named as global chief financial officer to advance mid-long term strategy
Tokyo – Bridgestone Corp. has introduced a new chief financial officer (global CFO) function as part of a bid to advance its mid-long term business strategy introduced in February.
Former executive officer and assistant to global CEO Masuo Yoshimatsu will take the role of vice president and global CFO effective 1 Sept, Bridgestone announced 10 Aug.
The new role merges the group's previous business planning and managerial accounting functions and will oversee a range of activities such as financial planning, accounting, taxation affairs, investor relations and procurement.
Bridgestone said the new position had been defined specifically to accelerate its recently introduced mid-long term strategy.
The programme aims to increase the group’s competitiveness through ‘an aggressive approach’ and aims to bring Bridgestone back to profit by 2023.
