Coreseal-equipped products to be initially available in Germany and Austria
Offenbach am Main, Germany – Falken Tyre Europe is introducing its first tires to feature a proprietary integrated tire sealant, the company has announced.
Tires employing the Coreseal technology will initially be offered in Germany and Austria with other markets expected to follow, the Sumitomo Rubber Industries affiliate said 20 July.
According to the manufacturer, Coreseal technology features a layer of highly adhesive, yet viscous sealant on the inner lining of the tire.
The system, it stated, prevents air-pressure loss due to punctures by automatically sealing any punctures up to five millimetres in the tread surface.
On sale in Germany from July, Falken said Corseal will initially feature on its 235/55R18 104V XL and 225/50R17 98V XL all-season Euroall Season AS210.
“Coreseal is a simple solution to a disruptive problem… [and] a significant step in making tyres smarter and more efficient,” said Andreas Giese, senior manager corporate planning/product planning, Falken Tyre Europe.
