Indian carbon black producer also set to announce "further measures" in response to CO2 emission costs
Mumbai, India – Birla Carbon is increasing the price for all products manufactured in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region by €97/tonne, effective 1 June.
All shipments made on or after this date are subject to the price increase, Birla announced 21 May.
The carbon black producer said the increase was necessary in order to compensate additional costs incurred, including in freights, logistics and overall operations.
In addition, the price hike will contribute to investments in improving operations and the quality of products, Birla added.
The Mumbai-based supplier said it is also studying “the ideal ways” to address the increasing CO2 emission costs and will be announcing further measures "soon".
