TIA’s 100-year anniversary celebration, set to take place in November in Las Vegas, not impacted
Bowie, Maryland – The US Tire Industry Association (TIA) has postponed a number of its 2021 events in Washington DC, due to uncertainties surrounding government visitations and international travel.
The events include TIA’s Lobby Day, Environmental Summit and International Issues Summit planned for this year as part of the association’s 100th anniversary celebration, the TIA announced 6 May.
These three events were also postponed in 2020 due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.
TIA’s rescheduled 100-year anniversary celebration – tire industry honors luncheon – set to take place during the Global Tire Expo GTE/SEMA Show 31 Oct - 5 Nov in Las Vegas, will take place as planned.
Lobby Day is a designated event to give the US tire industry members a chance to visit Capitol Hill and discuss issues facing the industry. The Environmental Summit, is devoted to environmental issues within the industry.
Both events, originally scheduled for September this year, will be pushed to 2022 in Washington, DC, TIA said.
The International Issues Summit addressing four tire-related issues impacting the global tire market will be re-scheduled for Global Tire Expo GTE/SEMA Show 2022.
“This was a difficult decision, but restrictions on government buildings in Washington, DC, left TIA unable to adequately plan for in-person meetings with elected officials and agency staff this year,” said TIA CEO Roy Littlefield.
