Expansion project to repurpose an area currently used to produce speciality tires
Guiyang, Guizhou – Guizhou Tyre is to raise its annual production capacity for agricultural tires by 25,000 units or 4,100 tonnes at its plant in Guiyang, in central China.
The project has €7 million (57 million yuan) investment and will take one year to complete, said a company announcement in April. It will create 23 new jobs when in operation.
Guizhou Tyre said the project will repurpose an area currently used for speciality tires.
According to the tire maker, the plant’s current capacity in mixing and extrusion will be sufficient for the additional agricultural tire, but the old building and curing machines will need upgrading.
The facilities, including tire building machine, seven volcanising boilers and three shaping and curing presses, will be replaced by two uni-stage tire buildings machines and nine curing presses.
Presently, the Guizhou plant has a designed annual capacity for 8.4 million units mid- to small-sized engineering tires and jumbo tires, said the company. The new project will not change the total capacity.
