Recently appointed José Cantón is based at the rubber compounding group’s Barcelona facility
Barcelona, Spain – SPC has recently appointed José Cantón as the group’s new chief financial officer, replacing Conrad Bayliss who has stepped down after successfully steering the group through the Brexit deadline.
Cantón, who took over the role in January, is based at SPC’s Barcelona facility, while overseeing financial strategy for the entire UK-based rubber compounding group.
He joined SPC from medical-products manufacturer Smith + Nephew, where he was finance director for its south of Europe region, responsible for units in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Poland and India.
Prior to working for Smith + Nephew, Cantón worked for Ernst & Young as an auditor, added a statement supplied 18 Feb by SPC.
Welcoming Canton to SPC, group CEO Paul Hallas said: “His experience in managing manufacturing finance teams across multiple markets is a perfect fit.”
For his part, the new CFO said: “I am excited to work in a team which demonstrates such a high level of professionalism… driving forward our international business.”
