Modernisation to raise capacity and expand portfolio of Nizhnekam truck tire plant
Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan – Kama Tyres is to increase capacity and produce a new range of large tires at the Nizhnekam Truck Tire Plant Ltd* operation in the Russian Federation, parent group Tatneft announced 22 Jan.
The production unit, in Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan, is claimed to be the largest truck tire manufacturing facility in Russia and the CIS countries.
The modernisation project follows a 10-year credit deal, involving the Bank of Zenith, Moscow Credit Bank and All-Russian Development Bank of Regions.
At the end of December 2020, the syndicate issued the first tranche of €39.26 million (over 3.5 billion rubles), Tatneft adding that syndicated credit totals about 10 billion ruble equivalent.
As part of the modernisation, the NSGS plans to expand its production capacity for the production of CMC tires by 1.2 million units per year and create a new product – large tires of 33,000 units per year.
"Kama Tyres plans to increase the production of all-steel tires at the NGSH and to develop a new market niche for large industrial and agricultural tires," said Guzel Khabutdinova, director of Tatneft-Neftehim LLC.
The implementation of these projects “will strengthen our position in the domestic and foreign markets,” added Khabutdinova.
