China’s 11-month tire production records first growth in 2020

First time in 2020 that the year-to-month production showed growth from a year ago
Beijing – China’s major tire makers recorded 394 million unit automotive tire production over the first 11 months of 2020, up 1% from the same period in 2019.
It was the first time in 2020 that the year-to-month production showed growth from a year ago, said China Rubber Industry Association’s tire branch.
China has been registering double-digit growth in its monthly tire production figures throughout the second half of 2020.
The 11-month total production included 97 million unit truck and bus tires, up 3% year on year, and 273 million unit passenger car tires, down 0.2% year on year.
The growth was mostly driven by original equipment tires for trucks, said the tire branch....
