E-commerce portal for passenger car and two-wheeler customers being rolled out in India
Gurgaon, India – Apollo Tyres on 22 Dec launched an e-commerce portal shop.apollotyres.com for passenger car and two-wheeler tyre customers in India.
Under the ‘buy online, fit offline’ model, consumers can purchase carefully selected tires online and book an appointment with a local Apollo dealer for fitting and service.
The service, said Apollo, will initially be offered in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai and Kochi, before being expanded to other cities across India.
The e-shop initiative responds to the rising number of customers seeking to buy tires online during the pandemic, according to Apollo’s statement.
Customers, it added, will be able to study and compare the features and pricing of tires, with Apollo also providing guidance and support throughout the lifecycle of the product. The service includes technical support via a 24/7 call centre.
The new platform “symbolises the next step in our growth journey in India,” said Satish Sharma, president, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (APMEA), Apollo Tyres Ltd.
The portal, he claimed, will provide a “seamless online shopping experience,” in addition to enabling an incremental growth for local retail partners.
“This will further expand our reach and help us acquire new customers in both passenger vehicle and two-wheeler tire segments," said Sharma.
