Hartel will succeed Rudolf Staudigl who is retiring at the end of the next annual shareholders’ meeting
Munich, Germany – Wacker Chemie AG has appointed executive board member Dr Christian Hartel as its next president and chief executive officer, effective as of May 2021.
Hartel will succeed Rudolf Staudigl who is retiring at the end of the next annual shareholders’ meeting, scheduled for 12 May 2021, the German supplier announced 9 Dec.
Hartel studied chemistry at the University of Constance and holds a PhD from the universities of Geneva and Frankfurt am Main.
He has worked with Wacker since 2003 where he held various management positions within the group's biosolutions and silicones divisions.
Hartel was appointed to the executive board in November 2015, and is currently responsible for Wacker Polymers, Wacker Biolsolutions, HR (personnel director), R&D and intellectual property.
Angela Wörl, currently head of Wacker’s human resources corporate department, will simultaneously take up Hartel’s position as personnel director on the group’s executive board.
