Effective immediately, the price increases will also affect BDO derivatives
Ludwigshafen, Germany - BASF SE is increasing the selling prices for butanediol and its derivatives in Europe, the German chemicals supplier announced 1 Dec.
Effective immediately, BASF is raising the price for 1,4-butanediol (BDO) by €300 per tonne.
The German group is also raising the prices for Tetrahydrofuran (THF); Polytetramethylene ether glycol; N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidone (NMP); N-Ethylpyrrolidone (NEP); Gamma Butyrolactone (GBL) and Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT).
BDO and its derivatives are used for the production of plastics, elastic fibres and polyurethanes.
BASF produces BDO at its sites in Ludwigshafen, Germany; Kuantan, Malaysia; Caojing, China; Chiba, Japan and Geismar, Louisiana.
