Tashkent – Linglong Tire has advanced its Uzbek tire & rubber project with a new technical service agreement with the Uzbekistan Rubber Products Factory.
Linglong completed technology supply to the greenfield tire and rubber goods production plant in Angren, Uzbekistan in 2018 and the new contract marks the second phase of the project, the Chinese tire maker said in a statement 23 Nov.
The two sides, Linglong said, signed the contract in a virtual ceremony held 20 Nov.
Constructed under the Uzbek 13th five-year growth plan, the factory is Uzbekistan’s first tire, conveyor belt and other rubber products manufacturing facility.
The unit has the capacity to produce 3 million passenger car tires, 200,000 agricultural bias tires as well as 100,000 metres of conveyor belts.
According to Linglon, the new technical service agreement will see the company sending “technical backbone and management elite” to the Uzbek factory for services such as on-site guidance, tire design assistance, product development, quality control and testing.
The project, it said, will move Linglong's position from a tire manufacturer to a provider of technical services and management support.
