RIEG elastomer events to study sustainability, medical application

Two afternoon technical discussions to be held in November and December
London – UK-based Rubber in Engineering Group (RIEG) is holding two ‘afternoon technical discussion meetings’ over the next two months to discuss elastomers sustainability and application in medical industry.
On 16 Nov, the online technical meeting, hosted jointly by RIEG and the Manchester Polymer Group (MPG) will review the topic of sustainability in elastomers and polymers.
The free webinar will explore new trends and will study new technologies developed to address the increasing demand for sustainability.
Dr Helen Czerski, physicist, oceanographer and television presenter will open the proceedings to bring the audience her views on sustainability.
Speakers from AGC Chemicals Europe; UK industrial gas company BOC Ltd; Sheffield Hallam University UK; Birla Carbon and Bangor University UK will present at the event.

In addition, RIEG is planning a technical meeting on 4 Dec to review elastomers in medical applications.
To be moderated by RIEG chairman James Busfield, the event will review the use of elastomers in heart valves and other medical devices and will study speciality elastomers for medical markets.
Ruhi Patel, from the University of Cambridge; Andrew Alderson, from Sheffield Hallam University and Anas Mujtaba from ExxonMobil will present at the free event.
