Mann+Hummel currently does not carry out any activities in the area of elastomer technology
Ludwigsburg, Germany – Filtration technology group Mann+Hummel has taken over the functional coating business of German product design specialist Helsa Group.
The business complements Mann+Hummel’s portfolio particularly in the area of elastomer and activated carbon technology for special industrial applications, Mann+Hummel said in a statement 21 Sept.
“The takeover will enable Mann+Hummel to position itself as a technology leader in this growth market and further set the company up for the future,” said Emese Weissenbacher, executive vice president and CFO.
In a follow-up statement to ERJ, Mann+Hummel said it currently does not carry out any activities in the area of elastomer technology.
“This is why helsa Functional Coating… complements the Mann+Hummel portfolio so well,” said a company spokeswoman.
Helsa Functional Coating, with its subsidiary helsacomp, specialises in the production of elastomeric membranes and the acquisition enables Mann+Hummel expand its product range, the spokeswoman added.
As a “niche provider of intelligent premium solutions in molecular air filtration,” the takeover will help Mann+Hummel scale up projects to reduce molecular emissions.
