Serving as regional headquarters, facility manufactures machinery for the rubber & plastics industries
Jiaxing, China – KraussMaffei Group has opened a new integrated production plant in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, which will serve as a regional “comprehensive functional headquarters” for the German machinery maker.
The unit started operation in mid-June and has 10 different type of machines serving 16 diverse market applications, said parent company ChemChina in a recent announcement.
The facility houses an R&D and testing centre and manufactures extraction, injection and moulding machinery for the rubber & plastics industries, ChemChina said.
Currently spanning 58,000 square metres, the site has a reserved land of 37,000 square metres for future expansion.
Doubling KraussMaffei’s production capacity in China, the Jiaxing plant offers functions of R&D, engineering design, manufacturing and supply chain management.
The location will focus on emerging new technologies and mega trends, intelligent manufacturing, digital services and solutions that will bring new opportunities to the industry, said Cui Xiaojun, CEO of KraussMaffei China.
KraussMaffei, he said, aims to further expand the Chinese market and enhance its localisation capabilities.
