Price hike needed "to keep pace with increased operational, labour and environmental compliance costs"
Fort Worth, Texas – Tokai Carbon Co. Ltd is planning to raise its prices for carbon black products made manufactured in the US, the company has announced.
Effective 1 Oct, or as customer contracts allow, the Japanese company is increasing prices between $40 (€33.6) and $50 per tonne. An EPA (environment protection agency) charge of $88 per tonne also will remain in place.
Tokai said the increase was needed to keep pace with increased operational, labour and environmental compliance costs in the carbon black industry.
