Two companies intensify collaboration as part of strategy to focus on long-term partnerships
Hamburg, Germany – German distributor Nordmann has stepped up its collaboration with Mitsui Chemicals to include the distribution of EPDM rubber in Europe.
As part of the intensified partnership, the Hamburg-based has been given the distribution rights for Mitsui EPT-branded EPDM in the EU and Serbia, Nordmann announced 8 Sept. The agreement came into effect retroactively as of 1 April.
"We are very proud of this special and loyal partnership with Mitsui," said Torsten Heller, global sales director elastomers at Nordmann.
The transfer of the distribution rights to the company, he went on to say, highlights Nordmann’s strategic approach to long-term partnerships.
Mitsui EPT is UV and ozone resistant, has insulating properties and is resistant to water and certain chemical influences.
The materials sold by Nordmann are produced with metallocene catalysts, which are more environmentally friendly and offer low chlorine and gel content.
Mitsui's EPDM rubber can be offered in various types offering “very good low temperature flexibility and heat resistance” in addition to high processability, Nordmann said.
EPDM rubber can be used in applications such as window seals, cooling water hoses, insulation and cable sheathing.
Mitsui Chemicals produces EPDM rubber at three plants, two in Japan and one in China.
"Nordmann has an excellent reputation in the rubber industry," said Andreas Wissmann and Maarten Groot Roessink from the mobility division at Mitsui Chemicals.
"We look forward to building the EPDM business in the European Union and Serbia together with such a strong partner."
