Chinese tire maker aims to raise total production capacity by 8% this year
Guiyang, Guizhou – Guizhou Tyre is to expand its annual capacity for small and medium sized full-steel engineering tires by 56,100 unit.
The work started in May as part of the phase two of the company’s engineering tire project at its existing site in Guiyang, Guizhou province.
With a €6.3 million (50 million yuan) investment, phase two will produce tires of grade 14.00R25 and generate €2.2 million annual profit when fully on-stream, said the company.
Phase two will take six months to complete, and only involves the installation of new machinery, including one tire building machine, 14 curing presses and one X-ray inspection machine.
Phase one, with 26,000 unit designed annual capacity for engineering tires and a €4.4 million total investment, was originally scheduled to start operation this March.
In 2020, Guizhou Type plans to raise its production by 8% to 6.45 million unit and sell 6.5 million unit tires, including 5.1 million units to the Chinese market and 1.4 million units overseas.
