Sanghoon Lee appointed as chief operation officer and president, effective 1 Jan
Neu-Isenburg, Germany - Hankook Tire Europe has appointed Sanghoon Lee as chief operation officer (COO) and president, replacing Han-Jun Kim who is taking on new responsibilities at the group’s Seoul HQ.
Lee was formerly COO of Hankook Tire China played a “pivotal role” in the expansion of the company’s market share in China, Hankook said.
His new tasks include strengthening innovation and digitisation at Hankook Europe, as it moves to ‘reposition itself for the new decade,’ added a 16 Jan company announcement.
Hankook is currently OE partner for a number of European automotive manufacturers including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche as well as truck and bus makers MAN, Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Scania and Schmitz-Cargobull.
The Korea-based tire group has a European R&D centre in Hanover, Germany, and a manufacturing plant in Rácalmás, Hungary.
