London – UK's Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) will host the three-day International Rubber Conference (IRC2019) in London next month.
Described by IOM3 as the "biggest global rubber conference", the event will focus on technical advances in the global rubber market, featuring over 160 talks scheduled across 4 sessions each day.
With a strong line-up of speakers from organisations such as Bridgestone, Pirelli, Continental, Tokyo Institute of Technology and the University of Twente, the conference will be attended by more than 500 delegates, IOM3 announced 28 Aug.
Manfred Kluppel, head of department material concepts and modelling at Deutsches Institut für Kautshuktechnologie will chair a plenary session with his talk on ‘modelling and design of elastomers’ during the conference.
The second day plenary session will be given by Professor Judit E. Piskas AIMBE and IUPAC fellow, biomaterial and biopolymer engineering programme at Ohio State University, US.
Session themes include filler reinforcement, wear and abrasion, smart and responsive elastomers, fatigue testing and modelling, and rubber adhesion with global speakers.
“The Institute and its predecessors have had a strong link to this conference series since its inception and we are hugely proud to welcome it back to the UK,” said Colin Church, CEO of IOM3 ahead of the event.
IRC2019 will be held 3-5 Sept at the Oval, London.
